Conservation is’t about ONE person. It’s about working Together
It’s about YOU and US.
Our generation has a responsibility- no wait...we have the PRIVILEGE to take care of this planet. It’s a gift we can give to the future and ourselves. But we need to plan together. The thing is, we’re really the first generation with a way to network together while we are still in school and really choose how we want to do the environmental leadership for our future. The difference between us and the generations before us is that we can easily use technology to talk to each other. On the way to school we can hear a radio report about an environmental problem that affects our future, think about the mistakes that led up to that problem throughout the day and text each other and start talking about how we can influence the situation using YouTube or myspace or facebook that same day. I have a friend named Rene who uses myspace to tell me about environmental conferences she might attend just to keep me updated. Connor tells me about what’s going on in Michigan. Steve is going to be sending me articles about sharks. I meet people from all over and we exchange info online.
This is a war on misinformation and apathy. Nothing we can’t fix together, right?
Besides networking sites, one of the ways we use technology is that sometimes Josh and I make our own videos about environmental issues.
