My Tarantula is gone

Recently my tarantula died. I thought about what god must think about tarantulas.

She travels across the land. Across the desert. Across the scorching landscape.
Abdomen spiked with tiny, irritating, barbed hairs set to defend only her freedom.
Eyes bright with a sight we will never

Something For Adults
To think about

A while ago I did this speech thing for a conservation group in my city. There were a lot of leaders there. They had asked me to speak about how to get kids involved in conservation. Like, they wanted me to suggest ways for organizations to lead kids. I took my friend Tara from school with me (

It might seem like this is a little bit off-topic because it’s not about animals but it’s about thinking differently about stuff and treasuring our natural resources so that we don’t have to tear into wildlife habitats for more energy.

What i think We can do

Before we become world leaders, (Yes. Since 2nd grade I have been saying that we are going to be world leaders. My dad says that’s a scary thought hahaha) Anyway, we have to start thinking differently about things like habitat destruction and pollution and even politics so that we can protect

Indicator species...who needs ‘em?

Um...WE do? Take for instance the Peregrine Falcon which almost went extinct because people were using a chemical called DDT on crops. Scientists figured out that the DDT which was affecting the falcons ability to produce healthy eggs, could have poisoned us too. This was a close call in America.

Philosophy:(noun)
phi·los·o·phe 1. The critical analysis
of fundamental assumptions or beliefs.

I guess everyone has them. When I was younger I
understood “Philosophy” but saying it was a different
story. I used to mispronounce it. One time I when I was about 9, I had written “philosophy” into a speech I was planning to give for this huge convention of zoo educators. Every time I practiced my speech in front of my parents and Josh, I’d come to the word “philosophy” and I’d say “Philo-so-pea.” They always laughed, but wouldn’t tell me what was so amusing. Don’t you hate when parents do that? *annoying* It turns out that they just wanted me to do things my way. They wanted me to say things the way I saw them, which was as a kid. After I begged, they finally caved in and told me what was making them laugh. I corrected the word before I delivered the speech. I think kids ways of seeing things is good. We should know what our philo-so-peas are and stand by them.

Well, the purpose of this page is to highlight my philo-so-peas. Me saying what I think..to kids, for kids. These are some of my ongoing ideas that have to do with nature and science and kids and the future and stuff like that.
I let my philo•so•peas guide me when I talk to our City Council Check it ../City%20Council.htmlshapeimage_4_link_0
